We Own This! 2022
A Celebration of Femme Founders

Challenge: Create event branding for an evening celebrating femme-identified creative entrepreneurs and parents, featuring a panel discussion and marketplace amplifying their voices and businesses.

Deliverables:

  • Event branding refresh—building on the previous year's established identity with a collaged, vintage-inspired aesthetic

  • Social media graphics and story templates

  • One-pager event overview

  • Marketing materials for marketplace vendors

  • Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and website assets

Design Approach: The 2022 event was hosted at Adorn Vintage Furniture, inspiring me to incorporate the venue's vintage aesthetic into the event's visual identity. I updated the existing brand from the previous year, weaving vintage-inspired elements throughout while maintaining brand recognition. Created a celebratory, bold design that honored femme founders while establishing cohesion between the event branding and venue atmosphere.

We Own This! 2023
A Celebration of Femme Founders

Challenge: Refresh the 2023 event branding to maintain recognition and continuity from the previous years while introducing a fresh, futuristic aesthetic. The event expanded to include multiple components—a private dinner, public celebration, and Stay Ready workshop—each requiring distinct yet cohesive visual identities. Design needed to make attendees feel empowered, inspired, and valued.

Deliverables:

  • Refreshed event branding with a futuristic theme

  • Color-coded visual identities for three event components (private dinner, public celebration, Stay Ready workshop)

  • Social media graphics with varied colorways for timeline diversity

  • Story templates

  • Slide deck support

  • Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and website assets

Design Approach: Building on the previous year's established branding, I introduced a futuristic aesthetic inspired by a curatorial mood board while maintaining brand recognition. Developed distinct colorway systems for each event component, creating visual variety across social media while ensuring cohesion. Updated background patterns and design elements to align with the forward-looking theme, balancing continuity with evolution to reflect the growth and expansion of the celebration.

BCAN x Joy Fennell
Black History Month Campaign

Challenge: Create a multi-platform campaign celebrating and amplifying Joy Fennell, founder of The Future in Black and All Black Everything Summit. The campaign needed to spotlight Joy's innovation while inspiring Black creatives in Baltimore and beyond to own their creative power.

Deliverables:

  • Social media graphics series

  • Mailchimp newsletter design

  • Promotional materials for live conversation between Sharayna and Joy

  • Instagram takeover graphics and templates

  • Campaign branding with celebratory energy

Design Approach: Developed a cohesive visual identity that centered Joy's story and platforms with bold, celebratory aesthetics. Created flexible design templates that worked across multiple formats—social media posts, email newsletter, event promotion, and Instagram takeover—while maintaining consistent branding that positioned Joy as an innovator and inspiration for the creative community.
